Orange & Cardamom Shrimp Salad

Serves 4

These long spring-almost-summer nights are the perfect time to fire up the grill and whip up delicious salads tossed in incredible Whole30 vinaigrettes. This fast and easy shrimp salad offers a great combination of flavors from the sweet and savory coco aminos, to the refreshing fresh orange juice and zest, and the cleansing cardamom.

Use shrimp with the tail-on or off and begin enjoying the flavors of summer! 

Orange & Cardamom Shrimp Salad



1 to 1.5 lbs. of wild-caught shrimp (tail-on or tail-off is fine)

2 Tbs. of coconut oil or ghee

2 medium heads of romaine lettuce, chopped


¼ cup of Big Tree Farms Organic Coco Aminos

1 medium garlic clove, peeled and minced

Juice & zest from ½ orange

½ tsp. of sea salt

¼ tsp. of white pepper

½ tsp. of ground cardamom

¼ cup of fresh cilantro, leaves torn

1 whole scallion, minced

½ red chili pepper, seeds removed and minced


  1. Whisk all of the vinaigrette ingredients in a large bowl and set aside.

  2. Heat a large skillet to medium-high with 2 tablespoons of cooking fat or fire up your grill.

  3. When the skillet/grill is hot, place shrimps in the pan (or on your grill), carefully as not to touch each other.

  4. Cook shrimp for 1 minute per side and then set aside on a plate.

  5. Toss the chopped romaine in the marinade, then gently fold in the cooked shrimp.
Serve between 4 plates and enjoy!


Simple & Sweet Steak Stir Fry

Serves 4

Firing up the grill is the perfect way to enjoy a juicy cut of flank steak that has been marinating in Big Tree Farms Organic Coco Aminos. We love how easy it is to create a Whole30 marinade with only a few ingredients and we know you will love how it transforms your summer dishes.

No grill? No problem. Simply use a cast iron skillet and follow the recipe as noted below.

Simple & Sweet Steak Stir Fry


1 to 1.5 lbs. of flank steak

½ cup of Big Tree Farms Organic Coco Aminos

2 Tbs. of apple cider vinegar

1 tsp. of garlic powder

1 tsp. of sea salt

½ tsp. of black pepper

2 red bell peppers, seeds removed and sliced

2 yellow bell peppers, seeds removed and sliced

2 cups of green beans, ends trimmed

2 Tbs. of ghee

4 handfuls of greens, such as baby kale


  1. Place all ingredients except the ghee in a large ziplock bag and marinate 1 hour to 24 hours prior to cooking.

  2. Heat a grill to high and once hot, grill the flank steak for 4 minutes per side (do not move once set on the grill), then set aside.

  3. Add the ghee to a large skillet and once hot, sauté the peppers and green beans on the grill (or on the stovetop) until they are soft, about 5 minutes.
Serve the grilled flank steak and veggies over a handful of greens and enjoy!
