The Firefly Dinner Super Series

 

Firefly is a chance for us to create an extravagantly beautiful experience combining all that we have worked on in Bali. The dinners represent a true marriage between past and present and the result is a union of perfection and luxurious simplicity.

The dinners are a micro portrait of the farm in its most bountiful season (roughly May through September). Over 80 different varieties of vegetables and fruits fill the farms, coffee buds open their petals and perfume the air with the scent of oranges and vanilla orchids begin to develop fresh pods.

The dining pavillion is located within an aged robusto coffee plantation that is the North-eastern loundry of our highland organic farm. The view from your table is of the last remaining old growth forest in Bali…the roof above your heads is thatched with fresh banana leaves. Hundreds of coconut torches lend a soft light to the paths that meander throughout the coffee…an evening under the stars with the torches to guide you is an experience unlike any other. The meal is a creation of the season, with almost all ingredients coming directly from the surrounding fields. The focus of the dinner is on the bounty of both Island Organics produce and the larger local community of sustainable food artisans across the archipelago that Big Tree farms aims to promote.
