The JAMU Life

What is this thing we call Jamu? Jamu is good life. Jamu is good health. Jamu is fun, sun and exposing our skin to the full-moon light.  Jamu is right action.  Jamu is unconfined creativity.  Jamu is uncontrollable contagious laughter in public.  Jamu is pushing ourselves beyond the comfort zone.  Jamu is the all embracing passion for life and the unwillingness to compromise this passion.  

Jamu is culture that is us.  It is WE.  We are Jamu.  It is the tribe of earthlings that would rather paint with our fingers than not paint at all.  To strum a guitar with only 3 rusty strings than to not play at all.  To eat a carrot fresh from the garden and not worry about the dirt on it.  Jamu is WE who ask for good and give good.

Historically, Jamu is what Indonesians call their traditional herbal medicine... the tonics that keep the body and mind healthy and hearty.  Jamu is made from roots, leaves, spices, seeds, bark and fruit... elements of the earth that enliven our body and spirit.  Jamu recipes are different in each region of Indonesia, each island, each village and to each practitioner.  It is up to the creator of the Jamu.

We use the term Jamu to represent a style of life, a state of mind, a state of heart ... actions, thoughts and good deeds that make everyone smile.  To encompass the all good medicine that makes life worth living.  Jamu is our lifestyle.  Jamu is where we are all headed.  

Jamu is the life we love.
